Our history

METF was established following the oil crisis of 1973, and was the offshoot of a setup in which originally Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL), and the then HRH Prince Abdallah AlFaisal, late Saudi Arabian crown prince, as well as Mr. Subhy Hakim were partners.

The two former gradually relinquished their interest in the bunker trade and it was left in the hands of Subhy Hakim’s family to run.

METF has, for half a century of its existence, maintained extensive credit lines and first class relations with the major oil companies as well as the independent oil companies worldwide that have been strengthened throughout the years, while maintaining a leading edge in technology, so as to fulfil its corporate mission of providing fast, dependable and cost efficient service 24 hours a day.
